I love tarot cards. Once upon a time I thought I had a large number of decks, but after watching videos by Arwen and Ember I realized my ‘collection’ is really on the small side. Of course, that only gives me free reign to go out and buy more, which is something I’d managed to stop myself from doing until now. 😉

Anyway, I wanted to share my Top 5 Tarot Decks with you today. It was really hard to put this list together because I really like all my decks. Let me know if you want me to do a more in depth sharing of any of the decks. Let’s dive in!

5. Rider-Waite Tarot

For me, this deck is a standard and something every reader needs even if the only thing you do is use it for reference. Way back in the day, before I even knew I was headed toward witchcraft on my path, this was my first deck. I don’t even remember how I ever learned what a tarot deck was, but I wanted one so I asked for a deck my sophomore year of college for Christmas. This baby has helped me in many readings for family and friends over the years. Now I use it for my Qabalic Sphere altars.

4. The Haindl Tarot

This deck has special meaning for me because a friend brought it back from Marie LaVeau’s House of Voodoo in New Orleans. The deck has some of the most interesting imagery I’ve ever seen and man does it work well! Right from the first reading I felt a connection to this deck, but I haven’t used it in some time. I need to remedy that!

3. Paulina Tarot

Such a whimsical deck with beautiful, amazingly detailed cards. This is actually my second deck of this particular tarot. One of my ‘baby’ witches got a look at this right after I bought it and she fell in love with it, so of course I had to give it to her, then rebuy it for myself. This deck reads very well. The only thing I’m not a hug fan of is the size of the book.

2. The Goddess Tarot

Oh Goddess, I love, love, love this deck! I’ve used it soooo many times. It was really hard to pick between 1 and 2, but I managed. The entire major arcane of this deck is depicted with goddesses from different pantheons. It’s a dream to have them all together. Unfortunately this one came with a small book as well, but luckily a larger one was available for purchase separatelyl.

Special Side Note: this deck lives in a beautiful wooden box that a dear friend’s father made for me before his death. The box is as special to me as the tarot deck.

  1. The Steampunk Tarot

My winner!

This deck is gorgeous and fits into the Steampunk genre that I love so much. I wanted to share this deck in better detail than what I can cover in this post, so I decided to do a video over on the YouTube channel. I’ll post a link below when it’s up and ready.

There’s my Top 5! I hope you enjoyed them as much as I did putting the list together. Like I said, let me know if you want me to share anything more about the decks and I’d love to know which are your favs.

Until next time!
